    Hi,

I work in Z scale primarily but every once in awhile I get the idea to do some N scale work. I see there are two main N scale magazines out there... any opinions as to which is the better publication? I realize this is a very subjective question. Also are there any good magazine-style websites available?

I'm mainly interested in beginner material, scenery and kit building.

Trying to get ahead of the N scale learning curve!

    Thanks
    John

I only subscribe to both N scale magazines and don't know of any N scale magazine type web sites.
I know that this will not help you though.:we-smile::we-spinny:

I'm not aware of any N scale specific e-zine style web sites. There are blogs, but that's not the format requested.

I recently caught on to it. They even show a mini-feed of topics on this forum on the right column. It's THE blog for N scale!

As far as the magazines I like both since both publications seems to compliment each other.

I appreciate the suggestions, thanks! That www.model160.com looks interesting, got it bookmarked. Also have back issues of both mags on order and look to begin some N work.

    Thanks

It's not exactly what you want, but N Scale magazine has back issues available on disc in 5-year chunks. With the mags you ordered, you'll get some idea of the differences in philosophy of each. Back in the day, many N scalers got both.

If you're looking for the most recent/cutting edge stuff and high quality modeling including techniques, this is a place to be. There may not always be something of interest for you (there is for me FWIW) but you can always dig into the archives. Plus you'll find far more info and discussion here vs. any Z boards and even many H0 boards.

I prefer N Scale Railroading over N Scale Magazine, but I've purchased both.

As far as online goes, I just found out about Model160 by reading above, but another one I like is N Scale Limited.

I was going to www.model160.com, but I seemed to be one of about 4 that ever used the forums.
I find blogs kind of boring. So I subscribe to both N scale magazines.
