Have any of you had any luck finding Atlas parts anywhere other than Atlas? I need some parts for a kitbash project and Atlas is all out of stock on some VERY much needed items. Are there any parts suppliers out there that specializes in this type of service?

    Best regards

There is a guy on EBay that sells all sorts of parts...Atlas, Kato and sometimes foreign parts. His store is called "That Train Place".

Thanks Steve. I looked at his items and found a couple of the items I need but not all.

I'd try a message at least, the guy has tons of stuff, just not all of it up at once. Be patient though,he takes awhile to respond.
Just bought a bunch of stuff off him again tonight lol.

In my way too many years in this hobby and scale, I have learned that patience and perseverance usually ends up with the reward. Patience is just waiting things out, and having some faith and confidence that the dynamic changing nature of this scale will ultimately make what you need available. But you can't just sit back and wait for it, you need to go out and get it, and your first step here is a right on. Other steps include letting friends know exactly what parts you need, making inquiries at train shows, swap meets, sales, keep in touch with Atlas parts, look for junkers for parts donkeys on ebay and so forth. The longest I ever had to search was about 5 years for spare Big Boy wheel and driver parts. The shortest was a week when I bought a spare parts loco at a swap meet.

Believe me, if often isn't easy, and just because the item you are retrieving parts for has been around awhile, remember over the years that the internal guts of the subject has probably changed. But to me, that is the challenge and heightens satisfaction when you get all of the parts together and finish the model.

Hang in there, patience and perseverance!!!!
