    Layout Update:
I have installed all track feeders (over a month ago) and all works well.

I still have not completed any structures. I have painted up the Walthers Hardwood Furniture kit but have delayed building it because I am thinking about adding interior floors, details and lighting for this project and it may be easier to do some of this prior to finishing the building.

For the most part, my focus has been on wiring and electrical work for the layout as well as filling in the "ground" with additional foam. I have installed six Digitrax DS64 stationary decoders and started to wire up my turnouts. I currently only have five turnouts wired up and I ran out of 20AWG wire. Works pretty neat controlling everything from the throttle or JMRI. So next up will be to complete the wiring for all the turnouts and tidy up the wires under the layout.

I also installed fascia for the layout, not painted yet but it is installed. Had a heck of a time cutting this stuff with a circular saw and keeping the material from moving on me while tying to cut it (spread across saw horses in the garage). It is not perfect but passes the good enough mark for myself.

    Upcoming scheduled tasks:
    1. Finish wiring (already mentioned)
    2. Install grade crossing electronics (Logic Rail Infrared Grade Crossing Pro) for four protected grade crossings. Three of the crossings will be using Walther's post 60's cantilever crossing signals and one crossing using Tomar crossing signal.
    3. Install Circuitron Block dectector electronics for two track staging. (uses photocells)
    4. Glue down foam ground risers
    5. Start building roads using Woodland Scenics Smooth It.
    and more

I will post some updated photos soon once there is something to look at :)

I have a custom painted G-Scale Minnesota Commercial locomotive. You can see it in action on the Wayzata Garden Railroad Layout in this video:
