That's great. You have a ton of space for a great layout. Nice progress.

Worked on building my fleet of 53' trailers. I purchased a scratch/dent 5 pack from Deluxe, along with 2 Arnold trailers. Now just have to paint and find some decals.

Mocking up some buildings, here is one showing what I will call the plant entry.

And here is a shot showing coal delivery, inside the shed. Also started Walther's machine shop for a power plant, maintenance building.

More work finished this weekend. Pictures showing rebuilt Medusa Cement, paper mill buildings, and some 53' trailers I've been working on.

That grain silo looks great, I love the subtle weathering. I also love the track arrangement for the switching area. Complex but not complicated. It really feels like a modern industrial switching zone. One suggestion I might adds is that you might wanna put it on the other side of the tracks, that way you can see the cars better to switch and it will be away from elbows and hands. It might also give you some room for a foreground scene.

The placement for Medusa is still up in the air. I have thought the same thing about putting it on the other side, but I also have one other track that is supposed to serve the paper mill just past there, for pulpwood or chips. Not sure what I'm doing there, but will take advise into consideration.

I rather like the way the cement plant is located, it kinda breaks up the scene and "frames" the mill buildings.

Not much to update on my layout, haven't had much time to devote to it lately. I did get Gettysburg #105 and #107 painted and decaled. Just waiting on numberboards and have to repaint the handrails.

Got some ballast work done in the paper mill area. Here are a few shots

First up, #105 is seen shoving a few boxcars into position for loading
    [IMG]

And here #107 is picking up some covered hoppers from the cement plant

Wow, over a year since I posted on my own thread. More then half of layout has track torn out. The grade just wasn't working out and I am trying to reconfigure things. Might be scraping the whole track and starting over completely. Any suggestions or rebuilds would be appreciated. Lost my help on drawing up the layout.

That's such a shame, what you had done looked so good. Would you be scrapping the industrial area, or incorporating that into whatever happens to come next? And was the grade just too steep, or causing big slowdowns?
