Well people I believe I've been infected with the let's do something different bug. I have found myself returning to the paint shop in the September MR over and over again to gaze at those beautiful green & yellow geeps. Is this an isolated case or are there others out there who share this affliction? Is there an antidote or am I fated to model yet another railroad?<G>
ahhhh danimal. you are not alone.i too and one of my very good friends are now becoming addicted to the MKT.i mean really who can look at the yellow and green cab on a engine and not think wow that is cool.i honestly think it is one of the neatest paint scheme's around(next to the bn and bnsf)they really catch your eye when ever you see them. ------------------ those who know me know my sense of humor, dont take me seriously. bnfan99
Since it is confession time... hehe Yep, I have a soft spot for the Katy as well. When I was in my full-on BN days, I dreamt of having a couple M-K-T SD40-2's to mix in with BN units on run-through coal trains. With Kato just around the corner with later phases of 40-2's, this could be the beginning of something. Gary.
Another conspiracy against the Frisco I see. If you want true happiness, go with the black and yellow - or, the mandarin and white. Give a little class to the layout! ------------------ Ship It On The FRISCO! | IAMOKA.com
Danimal, I don't see a problem in running another railroad. When I first started my layout all I ever ran was UP but I have now changed my views and run DRG&W, SP and BNSF on my layout. My section of track has given trackage rights to whatever railroad I fancy lol. I might even give trackage rights to MKT if I find a model I like. One thing for sure SOO will never gain trackage rights on my layout lol sorry GATS looks as though you will have to keep running those SOO SD40's on that oval track you keep on the kitchen table Found a site you might be interested in http://pages.tca.net/lruback/katy.htm ------------------ http://users.bigpond.net.au/railroad2000 [This message has been edited by Colonel (edited 12 August 2000).]
IF I were to change my modeling era and road modeled, the MKT would certainly be one I'd concider. I've also thought about the Illinois Terminal(similar color scheme as the MKT), but modeling it as if it were still in operation today. Or, going back to the mid-70's with Santa Fe and Burlington Northern out of Chicago to Galesburg, IL. But for now, I'm staying as is. ------------------ BNSF RAILFAN-TO-THE-MAX! You will be assimilated, et al, ad nauseum! Gary. ps. I don't have a kitchen table... hey, I don't even have a kitchen! lol...

Inquiring minds would like to know. Gary.
