Was browsing the bay and came across this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Manufacturing-P...040132?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1c1ce7d6c4 I am working on a power generating plant and this looks like it would fit right in. Looks pretty nice for the price. I am amazed how cheap they can ship from Japan
Nice, but mine is just going to be a small generating plant. Don't have the room anymore for anything big
could you post some dimensions for the cooling tower you have built that looks exactly like what I need for my sugar factory!
The cooling tower size is 8 1/2" long, 4" wide at the top of the tower, and 3 1/4" to top of cooling fans. The side were made from Plastruct #91552 3/16" Clapboard turned upside down. These are the basic sizes if you need others let me know.
Those are part of a whole set released by TomyTec recently. For some reason the parts of this set have been more expensive then regular TomyTec buildings; I think some of the parts may use the sharper molding method used for Kato and Tomix stuctures (TomyTec buildings usually use a cheap molding process but hide it with good factory painting and weathering) There is a picture at the top of the page, but if you scroll down past a few items there is complete product information (in Japanese) and a gallery of photos http://www.tomytec.co.jp/diocolle/lineup/jyoukei_k/index.html
Plaza advertises SAL shipping costs for most buildings/track/scenary. SAL is about half the price of EMS but it is limited to small packages (those newer Kato office towers are too big be shipped SAL), it doesn't have tracking or insurance and can take several weeks to arrive. SAL packages are low priority and are held until there is extra space to fill on a plane or they've been waiting for a set number of weeks, whichever comes first. Besides cost the one advantage of SAL is that it will often fly under the radar of customs, so you frequently save duties or taxes.
