I just picked up one of the Bachmann C&O Mallets, with the Vandy tender. It's got the basic B'mann decoder in it, so it'll almost certainly get a decoder upgrade when budget allows. I understand that the cylindrical shape of the Vandy tender leaves very little room for a speaker, which would make a sound install challenging... I also understand that one option is to swap the Vandy tender out for a larger, more traditional one, or that I could use a dummy car behind the tender or any of several other options... but I'd like for "Plan A" to be keeping (and using) the tender unless it truly is too hard... Has anyone installed sound in a Vandy tender (or, failing that, some other method on a B'mann Mallet) successfully? Do you have tales and/or pictures?
