Cool! I like that little critter. Scenery soon? Pictures?

Yes... I'll be practicing arranging various features and modelling scenery on this one. It's on a 3 inch base of foam so that I can build a little wooden bridge over an undercut gully.

    Overhead view...

Actually, I like what you had in the video. It had a nice abstract quality to it. Like a piece of railroad art.

Thanks... I like it too. :)
For some odd reason it reminds me of an old "Twilight Zone" set.

Looks like real rocks. I get a sensation of how small the engine is in reality, next to those. I also keep envisioning an accidental squishing of that little critter...

Yes, the rocks are real... I jackhammered literally tons of them to excavate a basement train room. I worked like a miner in my spare time for over a year to move 27 cubic yards of dirt and rocks...

...so now I'm using the same rocks I dug up in my little layout design. :)

I seem to recall something about that work. Didn't you have some pictures posted that showed the exercise in progress?

This is with about one quarter of the digging done...

This is a fraction of the rocks which were removed...

...so naturally my layout will incorporate a mining theme. ;)

Too bad you aren't in Montana. The BNSF could use that rock pile for rip-rap in many, many places!

I'll likely find a use for those raw materials as I've been saving up for some 7.5" gauge rails in the yard. There's a riding railway manufacturer about 200 miles away from where I live who can supply the materials.

What will roll on those tracks won't be live steam, gas, or electric due to the prohibitive cost. However, there's a small reasonably priced human powered vehicle that will be lots of fun ro ride... :)

Interesting idea. A modern day semi-velocipede?

Looks like the same crew jawing away in front of that shack. They sure don't get much work done.

Like me, they also possess incredible powers of inertial stamina. ;)
