Been a bit busy today. Finally decided to get my Unitrack ballasted. I think it makes a definate improvement. I used a mixture of light gray and black to match the Unitrack as closely as possible. Then just ballasted the shoulders of the track, left the middle alone. Here are a few pics......Mike
Very nice, Mike. It gives the track a finished look. I ended up ballasting between the rails too, but your solution looks good.
You did a great job, looks very nice! However, it doesn't make the tie spacing any closer (Not your fault of course)
Looks good. Before I ballasted my T-Trak modules I sprayed the Uni-Trak with Alcohol with some India ink to darken and remove any shine from the Uni-Trak. Then i used Woodland scenics fine grey ballast
And another inevitable "fantastic layout!" comment: WOW! You've got a wonderful eye for scenery! The unitrack looks much more proto like that as well! Excellent work, and keep those small steamers hauling! Suits your thickets and overgrowth- by the diesel era, all that was gone in most of the country Bravo, Mike, I'll be looking back to this when next I do scenicking.
Once I know my track-work isn't going to give me any problems I am doing something much the same with my T-Trak modules. Thanks for showing me what can be done!
