I haven't contributed much lately as there is nothing new to show so maybe slightly different views are in order.

Here a couple dash9's are keeping a train down to speed on a grade.

In the yard some SD35's are waiting for the train on the grade in the background to clear the main so they can tackle the grade.

A set of F3 AB units are cresting the summit.

A well used VO1000 is working the cement plant.

    My 'New' 0-4-0

Affectionally known to the townspeople as 'fatb*****d', the giant rodent was discovered when following a new coal seam deep within the mine back in '65. A friendly critter, alas, he carries a reputation thanks to stories told by bored old men to young impressionable children. If you believe the tales of 'lore, his teeth are black and yellow, roars with the power of a thousand lions, and eats puppies, birds, rats and misbehaved children who trespass on railroad property. Has never been spotted outside of the two tunnels, both of which are connected to his nest through a labyrinth of underground passages

I painted the roof of a B&O Heavyweight Coach and added steps cut from a cheapie Bachmann Caboose. I still need to paint the other cars in the consist but they at least have micro trains trucks and couplers on them now. Painting the roof Weathered Black has made it seem so much more realistic and full size. You can see one of the stock roof cars but with added steps coupled to the coach.

    Love This Thread!

At the moment I have a nice layer of dust from the window replacements.
Maybe by Christmas I'll have photos to contribute.

OC - That U50 looks great! Any derailment issues?

That locomotive has to have the saddest looking eyes I've ever seen. It looks like it was assigned to work right after learning that its latest batch of homebrew had exploded.

Getting ready to roll outbound on the mainline are these two N Scale Columbia, Newberry & Laurens boxcars. The car on the right is by Atlas and the one on the right is a Micro-Trains car painted by me. The CN&L was a small, but important road in South Carolina once controlled by the ACL, that's now a component of CSX. No CN&L decals are available in N, so I had to separately cut and place each letter and stripe segment. Tough on my aging eyes, but it turned out okay. I don't think I'd want to try it again though! :)

The “Lost Coast Limited” making a stop at Red Bluff before it tackles the grade west over the Klamath Mts to Eureka.

Sitting in the siding is a California Northern local that serves the many industries located at “Walther’s Industrial Park” in Red Bluff.

The California Northern mainly serves Red Bluff and River Bend but has been known to cross the mountains to service business and industries located in and around Petrolia.

Surely these are unique. I cannot recall ever seeing anything CN&L, in any scale?

The cars look good. Good thing there are so many scales to choose from so I should always be able to enjoy model railroading even with poor eyesight.

By the way, thanks for waking up this thread. I was able to see a few photos of my old layout that get me thinking. Man I miss my layout.
