I just installed 10 under the table and 2 table-top PECO turnout motors. 3 of the under-the-table and 1 of the table-top ones are moving only to one side.
when i try to throw the switch, i can see that the turnout initiates a momentary movement and returns back to the original position.
I checked for loose connections but it seems there is none.
Can anyone please help with this problem? I'm going nuts!:tb-confused:

    thanks in advance,
    Kaustav

When you say you are throwing a switch do you mean a toggle switch?
How are you powering the switch machine? They are best thrown with a Capacitor Discharge Unit using a momentary push button. One for each way.
A CDU gives a quick burst of power to the switch machine. You should hear it clunk over with a good whack.
Toggle switches are not the way to go as these switch machines are likely to overheat and burnout if current is left running to them.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers, Alan.

Thanks Alan. Yes, they are all powered through a CDU and I am using Peco stud and probe rather than push button switches and these are also very good in providing momentary contacts.

The turnouts that I have problem with seem to have tighter turnout springs with compared to the others. Now I am not willing to fiddle with the springs because a loose spring can result in loose connection with the rails resulting in poor running and stalling and might ultimately ruin the turnout. Is there a way to loosen it otherwise? I tried using the lube I use for servicing my loco, but it doesn't help. :(
