I've got TOO many hobbies :(

I'm a hopeless "rescuer of junk cars". I'm like the old lady that has a hundred cats because she doesn't want to see them be put to sleep. I'm like that but I don't like to see good cars get crushed [IMG] .

    http://communities.msn.com/clemsprojects

    also,

Race mechanic/Crew chief with the SCCA TransAm series (road racing)
    Sailing
    Road racing and autocross
    Third Generation Camaros
    '60-'66 Chevy trucks
    Merkur XR4Ti
    Model Aircraft

To top it all off I'm the father of a 21 month old little girl. That keeps me busy enough that all the other projects barely get any time [IMG]

I have seen this question on several job applications. I wonder if the prospective employer will pay you top dollar in order to maintain your hobbies...

Anyways, my hobbies are too many and very expensive!

    Here are some:

backpacking, car camping (new at this!), cycling, going to school-yes it is a hobby at times...skiing, white-water rafting, hiking, climbing 14'ers, fishing off the Gulf of Mexico-I go for the big fish, not the little ones :D , roller-bladding, ice skating, work around the house (I find this relaxing!), working on the car when I have to!, remote control airplanes-once they crash, got to get another one!, aquariums and many more too list...oh, i forgot to add traveling with the wife and dog, tinkering around with the pc and fine dining-not fast food eh!

    Rob :D

Most of my free time is spent back stage at a community theater. As the (unpaid) house manager I have to take care of everything from taking out the trash to rewiring the lighting rig. (Thankfully the bathrooms are in a different part of the building and therefore the landlord’s problem). As a result most of my good tools are locked up there, so I can’t get much done on my layout at home.

The rest of my time is spent with my wife and our 4 ferrets. Unlike snakes, they don’t try to swallow your arm!

Ferrets: Just think of them as Long, Furry N-Scale Godzilla's

Wow... lots of car fanatics on here [IMG] I'm a member of 60degreev6.com, which is a site for owners of the GM V6 engines, including the 2.8, 3.1, and both the single-cam 3.4 and the DOHC 3.4.

I also have a 67 Caprice coupe which I'll hopefully have running again within a few months.

Other hobbies include backpacking, cycling, hiking, camping, fishing, driving anywhere and everywhere, messing with computers, listening to music (Days of the New is my current favorite), and I dabbled for a while in coin collecting.

Tis damned expensive to keep so many hobbies. Especially when you don't have a job.

AZ_Ron, I feel your pain, I lost my job 3 months ago and still haven't found anything. I hope we both find something soon. It's difficult to enjoy your hobbies when you don't have any income. ;)

I also enjoy fish aquariums, both fresh and saltwater. Right now I have a 125 gallon saltwater in my living room, but I have had up to 10 aquariums going at one time before. :)

    Whoa... ZOMBIE THREAD!

I like to build things. I am currently thinking about building some small boats. I am working on a chicken coop and a duck house for...

The recently started hobby of raising chickens and ducks for laying eggs (and to serve as pets for my kids). We have two australorps, two ameraucanas, and tomorrow I am going to pick up a couple of ducks (Cayugas, if I get my way).

    I like riding my bicycle.

I like drawing and watercolor painting.

    I like vegetable gardening.

I do lots of stuff with my two five year old girls.

Besides N-scale, railfanning (of course!!!), hiking, camping, exploring ghost towns and old mines, photography of the unusual, travel, and keeping my house in repair.

OC, I was a former fish freak, but just freshwater. I had about 6 tanks going, largest was 80-gallon. Too much work to maintain, and too much heartache, so I traded them all in for little trains.

Oh, and I like music a lot. Still go to quite a few concerts every year.

I have had my share of heartache since I have been off work and haven't maintained the proper chemicals for the saltewater tank. Lost about $2000 in fish the last year. :(

Interesting thread. I don't think I was even here for its first incarnation.

Besides N scale model railroading (the shelf variety):

I also have home theater as a hobby:

They're actually quite complimentary, as rather than spending hours standing around the desert waiting for yet another vanilla UP container train, I can pop in a DVD and instantly be trackside fifty years ago watching "interesting" trains. I think I have every green frog video from that era, with those featuring Emery Gulash footage among my favorites. Highly recommended! Also, as you may have surmised, I'm a big fan of David Lynch films. I think there might have been a train whistle in the background of Inland Empire, but that's about the closest those get.....

Outside of being a (n-scale only) model railroader and railfan, I don't really have what I'd call hobbies, but maybe interests....photography, writing, snow skiing, camping, hiking, softball, and other outdoor activities. I like live music venues, mostly alt/hard rock or blues found in various watering holes in the wall.

I don't really collect anything--even trains, outside of my running roster--although I have a good collection of Star Wars toys, mostly old school from when I was a kid but a lot from the latest trio as well. But I am no longer actively doing that either. (my son is picking up my slack though)

I also keep salt water tanks. I have a 25 high small polyp stony reef tank with a crocea clam, and a 28 bowfront large polyp stony. I grow so much corals that I give it away.
I dont test my water for chemicals. I use a Tunze osmorator with a calcium dispenser, and I never have problems, and I had reef tanks for ten years. Also, my set up is desing for me to take two to three weeks vacations without anybody taking care of the tank. Everything is automated.
