Turn to page 80/81 - does that Boston & Maine photo look familiar? Congrats Mike!:thumbs_up::thumbs_up::thumbs_up:
APRIL issue? My newsagent hasn't seen the March one yet!!! I'll have to get my wife to set up a subscription direct from the publishers . . . Regards, Pete Davies
Thankyou, guys! It was great to be chosen. They even send a complimentary issue. Some nice weathering techniques in this one. Mike
Mike, we have always known that you do great work, and now so does the rest of the world thanks to the boys and girls at MR....beautiful photo!!!!
Yes, I knew I recognized that scene as soon as I saw it. Mike that was the first picture of your's that I ever saw. I was so impressed with how you modeled the water I just couldn't get enough of looking at it. Congratulations!
Yeah, I was thumbing through the issue last night, and I immediately recognized Mike's handiwork. I'm certainly not surprised, though. MR could do a multi-page photo essay on his layout, just based on what we've seen here week after week.
I have no doubt that it's a great photo (because all his photos are magazine quality), but could it be posted here for those of us who don't get MR?
I don't know about the legality of scanning the photo out of the magazine and posting it here. However, it is similar to this shot, taken from a different angle. It shows 1803 pulling a VTR box car over this same bridge.
Guys - many thanks to you for all the very kind comments!! Russell is correct - the magazine publishes the photo on the understanding it won't be shown elsewhere, which is fair enough. They are very generous and polite people to deal with. So this morning I took a similar shot - different loco and car, and even a different figure, because I can't find the other one :tb-sad: Anyway thanks again to you all. Mike
Fantastic photo, I just took my first look inside the April issue to see this one. I am honored to be in the same forum with those who have such great skills and are willing to share them with others. I can only hope that one day I may do something even 10% as nice! Great job Mike!
Very cool! I noticed the pic when I was flipping through the pages the other day but it didn't register what it was until I just read this. Will check it out if I can ever finish the march issue. Congrats! Jamie
For reasons I fail to understand, the Commander In Chief of Home Fleet thought I was expecting a bit too much of her, so I've subscribed on my own behalf now!!! Regards, Pete Davies
