I know there are some NJ modelers here, I maybe moving to Northwestern NJ and I'm wondering if there are any N-Trak clubs in that area. I'm looking at the Sussex area of NJ. I found a 3 rail O club but would love to run N should I move to the area. Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the Garden State! Northen New Jersey N-Trak meets in 2 locations. We aren't near Sussex I'm afraid, but it isn't an intolerable drive for you if you want to come to a meeting. The business meeting and "every other" meeting is in Allendale, off Rt 17. the other meetings are in the old Rogers Locomotive Works building that houses the Paterson Museum in the Great Falls National Park area in Paterson. The museum/city are sposoring a permanant layout representing railroading in NJ that we will be starting on in due course but there's a sizable N-trak layout there right now. Contact me privately if you want more info. I'm probably the newest member, but I'd be happy to fill you in!
I almost joined the club in Paterson. Then I got sick. I have a couple of friends that are members. Good club from what I know.
Me too. Hey Jim.. I have a house in Blairstown, New Jersey that I will be moving to once I sell my house in TX. Once I get there I will be looking to start up a T-Trak Enthusiasts Group. I have a long time N Scale Friend in the area that I have introduced to T-Trak... He is very Interested in that format. Its good to know that there will be others in the area. Bill
Thanks for the info everyone, glad to see a few from the Garden State here. I saw the Northern NJ N-Trak set up at the Springfield MA train show, impressive modules. Yeah Patterson is a bit of a drive, but I might see how my work schedule is before I commit. Bill, Blairstown is just the road from me on RT94. That would be perfect to start something with T-Trak that close. I'm 95% sure I'll be moving although working from Illinois would be easier in so many ways, I should know soon where my address will be.
Jim, I am VP of Northern NJ N-Trak. You would not be the only member coming to meetings and shows from Sussex. If you move here we would be happy to arrange for you to come by and visit to help you decide. Making the trip for the visit would let you see how the drive is too. Regards, Dave Ferrari
Well, darn it! I wish you'd move up my way, instead! We'd sure enjoy having you in this valley, Bill! Boxcab E50
Say hi to Mike for me tonight & have fun. BTW, I'm up & running. You, Mike & Bill are welcome anytime. Just give me a heads up.
Mike, Saw a good slide show last night, 2 in fact. One on Sea Train Lines and also one on L&NE branches in Sussex county and just over the NY border. Appropriate considering this thread! But Mike wasn't there, I'll say hi the next time I see him. Will keep the invite in mind. Got any photo of the "new" layout. Dave
Jim, One of the members from Sussex was there last night. He told me there was an HO club that meets in a Lutheran Church on 94 in Hampton Township. Some of the members are also into N scale. Dave
That would be awesome.... I am soo looking forward to start something in Northwest NJ... I am scheduled to drive up to NJ next week... I am bringing along my two T-Trak Modules to show my friend Tom, in Stroudsburg PA. If anyone following this thread would be interested in getting together while I'm in NJ...let me know. I should be there for about a week... I just need to be back in TX in time to go to the T-Trak showing at the GTE Show in Wichita KS on March 12-13. Bill
Well... one never knows where one will end up. I am sure that one day we will get close enough to shake hands. Thanks for all you support and encouragement for the promotion of T-Trak. You are a good Friend. Bill
