can someone tell me more about this company? many a handful of local hobby stores have mentioned this name before and i had a tanker car made by them before too but cant seem to find their website or info if they still exist (my guess is that they are gone). were they the california or arizona based company?

just wanting some info, not a "oh this is a great seller" or "i got overcharged on shipping" thread =).

    Freight Yard

The Freight Yard offered custom painted models for all sorts of roadnames in HO and N. Most of the models looked pretty good and accurate. Unfortunately their prices, at least to me, seemed a little too high. The economy hit them and they've gone out of business and their website is removed as well.

They were a family run business and moved to AZ from Anacrime, CA due to among other reasons taxes about 5 years ago. Didn't hear why they folded in Phoenix. Was overall happy with the business I did with them.

They were in a very bad location. A large shopping center that had most of the stores closed.
They charged list price or more.
There were a lot of complaints about their custom painting.
    Their inventory was minimal.
They had another shop on the same side of town that was much better.

I went in there a few times when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton. The staff was always nice but the location did seem a little odd, if you did not know it was there it was easy to miss. I only had one problem with them involving some SD70MAC's but they did fix it. I prefered MP38 though a few miles away.

Sound just like when they were here in AZ.

I happened to stop by when they were closing down, and everything was half price. Got quite a lot of things from them that day.
