Any manufacturers ever make an MP15AC in N?

I don't recall ever seeing one and research hasn't turned up any hits.

If not, anyone have any kitbashing tips for turning a DC into an AC? :)

None, only the MP15. The MP15AC is longer than the MP15 so no one has made one yet. Would be nice for Atlas to do them and the T, but they seem to have forgonten how to make new engine tooling for N-scale instead of reruns.

Atlas MP15 DC would be the logical starting point to do an MP15 AC,fish plate had an article in the N Scale Railroading magazine back in the May-June 2010 issue, very well done.GP15 from Atlas,or SD40T-2 shell from Inter Mountain will work for the tunnel motor and air intake grills.Con Cor makes an MP15DC that could be also used, but Atlas I believe is a better detailed switcher and is DC or DCC where the Con Cor switcher is DC only.I too would like to see the MP15AC done in N Scale. Also the Atlas MP15DC has the air filter box all ready where with the Con Cor unit doesn't.

The kitbash is not very difficult. I didn't modify the mechanism at all, so the truck spacing is a few inches off, but I think it looks OK. The Atlas mechanism runs very smoothly, although it is very lightweight and only pulls a few cars up my 2 percent grades.
