I would ask someone who has the new GP7 for two things; first, will the chassis fit in an Atlas GP7 shell? Second, please post pics of the bare chassis/decoder? I am curious as to how it looks & is setup, what type of decoder, etc. Thanks in advance gents!

(BTW; I am looking at using these chassis to repower some DC-only NP GP7/9's I have, would be faster than adding DCC and the added weight will come in handy for me!)

I just got the Brooklyn/Queens Green Peter Witt Trolley. Runs like a charm except it is a bit noisey. When in reverse the light goes on in the direction it goes but the headlight doesn't go off. But electrical pickup if excellent, looks good and DCC performance is very good - here's a picture:

    Hi nlombardi,
Just curious about the Peter Witt, does it have problem negotiaing tight curves? How tight can it go?

I received my GP7 in Pennsylvania and like it. It is running well on DC.
One thing I noticed: they did the wrong number. 8542 was not a GP7 but an SW9, the GP7's did not have continuous numbering.
Now I think about getting a second GP7 and then renumbering both. How well run two DCC engines together on DC? Just wondering whether there might be problems, though I don't expect them.

You know I asked the Bachmann people at the WGH show in Columbus, Ohio on Jan 8th about that very thing. At first he just kind of took it as just another stupid request saying there already was a K4 done. I told him that was the Trix model which is no longer in production and wasn't that good to begin with. I also added that didn't stop Bachmann from producing the GP7 which, unlike the Trix K4, Atlas is still producing with new numbers and road names. He then suggested that Kato might do a K4 as they have the E8's and the GG1 but I said Kato is more western road oriented and while the GG1 was welcomed it appears that they are back to their western road bias. I told him to check out the "Ask the Bachmann" forum on their website for all the postings there from people wanting a K4. Then I pointed out to him that the PRR K4 has been done in HO by Bachmann so they do have a start on it. In the end He agreed that a K4 did seem promising and that he would pass the word along. So we will see. I suggest that if anyone wants to see a PRR K4 to talk to the Bachmann rep at the WGH show if it comes to your area.

The manufacturers' reps know a lot about their market don't they?

No problem on curves, no problem with pickup anywhere --- I run it on 9 3/4" radius without a problem. Runs smoothly at very slow speeds too, just noisey

It is a streetcar, anyone tried it on smaller than 9 3/4" radius like the Kato tram track?

Recieved my B&O GP7 today! Model looks very nice: thin handrails, nice paint job, nice details. Model is quite heavy. The couplers do not look gigantic.

I am very happy so far!

I wonder where he got the Clinchfield unit, first time I've seen one. Going by the amount of Taiwanese trains on his layout my guess is he isn't from round these parts.

That might be HO. Bachmann makes a Clinchfield GP-7 in that scale.

It's N scale, the Taiwanese trains on the layout are also N scale as I have some myself.
