So, I was gluing magnets in some Containers last night and I found one that I had done upside down. Unfortunately I didn't discover it until after the CA had set. Since it's in the container, I don't have appropriate space and leverage to just shave the plastic off. So I need a solvent to dissolve the bond without destroying the plastic.

I also have a Dash 8-40B that I got used. It's a project engine, the previous owner clearly had no idea what GE exhaust stacks look like, because he mounted this one upside down. I'd like to retain the stack relatively unmolested, but again, because of the cavity it sits in, I can't get a hobby knife in there.

    Any thoughts?

AKA acetone. Use with care, away from flames and lung tissues...outdoors best.

OK, I've had mixed results using Acetone to remove CA from my hands, so I wasn't sure if there was a better product.

I use naptha to clean up CA from hands, but Naptha would likely eat the plastic.

Test the acetone on a hidden area, first. It can on occasion do nasty things to paints and plastics. And it's fumes are very ugly....

I've got a glob of CA on the side of a painted IM FT B unit. Any clue what will remove it without destroying the paint job or am I basically screwed?

Most companies that make CA glue also have a product called Debonder. Since it was you that glued it, you can easily look up your brands Debonder and try that. It's always good to have bottle on hand

Try soaking the piece in warm water-CA eventually dissolves in water, which is why it was originally created to "stitch" cuts. The CA eventually dissolves as the cut heals.

With the Magnets, I figured out a way to make them work as is and with the Exhaust, I broke down and ordered a $0.50 replacement from Atlas, so I will be less gental with the one on there.
