Quick question for those of you with the Walther's 130' turntable with the Modern Roundhouse - What's the length from the middle of the turntable to the very back of the roundhouse? (Basically the radius of the whole thing). I have a limited amount of space in a corner, but I think I might be able to get one in there. Thanks for any help!
Radius of TT is 5-3/16" + gap between TT and front of stalls is 1-15/16" = 7-1/8" PLUS the depth of the Walthers Roundhouse Stall. Note: I believe the depth of the stall varies depending on whether you use the extension for longer steamers. Walthers indicates depth of 10-13/16". If that is the full length of the stalls... then the entire radius is 17-15/16"; basically, about a foot and a half... a full circle would be almost 3 feet. Here's some tips from the Walthers website: http://www.walthers.com/instructions/extras/0933/09330000003260a.pdf BTW... Kalmbach Books has a publication "Model Railroader's Guide to Locomotive Servicing Terminals" by Marty McGuirk. It shows some clever ways to make a roundhouse scene fit in some tight spaces.
