Not really, at least this will be easier to fix.

Try a search for GE 2005 on rrpicturearchives.net - they were all 3 vent. However - the later demo units were 2 vents - but not next to each other. I would not be surprised if there are other differences, and I would also not be surprise if the 2005 was modified at some point and may in fact be correct for some point in time.

The GE 2005 with three vents:

    GECX 2005

If you have a photo with 2 vents, please post it - that would be interesting! I would not be surprised though, as a demo/development unit it would not be unusual for it to go in for changes from time to time.

Also I think this same unit was totally rebuilt as the Hybrid loco at some point.

That's easy. Go to the page with your photo and look at the one taken on10/1/2005. It appears to have only 2 vents with the third further back. Looking at it a second timenow it is not as clear and the cab could be hiding the third.

    2005-2010

Interesting...2005 was rebuilt as 2010. 2010 definitely has only two vents on the fireman's side. We need more photos.

2005 wasn't modified before being stripped and rebuilt to 2010. 2011, the ES44DC prototype, however, was.

As we probably won't see an AC6000 anytime soon and allowing for the fact that the AC6000 is 3' longer than the AC4400 and EVO, are there any resin part makers who would possibly do the AC6000 radiator hood end as cut and replace kit for a near enough look?

Or has someone got influence with Kato, Atlas, Bachmannn or Athearn to do one! :ru-shocked:

    Cheers,
    Hendo

I own an Overland CSX AC6000.

And then one of my biggest scores on ebay was someone was selling just an AC60 CSX shell. I picked it up for under $90. I've placed it on a Kato mechanism. One day I'll buy the new GEVO trucks to put under it, stretch it the three feet and then kitbash the bigger fuel tank.

It runs like a Kato. WhooHooo.

Anyone else try to grab that UP AC6044CW last night on Ebay? It was $125 up until an hour before the end - then went to $279, which is still not a bad price. It went up about $100 in the last 5 seconds...
