Hi ! I just bought a 5 car set of A.J. California Crossing Golden West Hi Cube's, I had never heard or seen this brand before, they look very nice, equiped with Accumates, so while waiting for them to arrive can anyone give me a review of thier quality ?

I could be wrong, but they sure look like old Roundhouse kits, with some paint on the underbody and the addition of Atlas trucks with Accumates instead of the old Rapidos.

Not there's anything wrong with that, they are probably good cars. I've thought of buying some but I've been on a tight budget.

Thanks for your comments, I am too on a tight budget but every once in a while find a bargain and go for it.

I looked at their website and if you look at the closeups of the RailGon gondolas, the paint is not crisp at all. The other single color cars looked OK, but not spectacular.

What a strange web site. The photos look like Roundhouse cars. I couldn't find any ordering or contact info.
There is also a motorcycle shop and a taxidermy shop linked through the site.

I just hope these are real cheap, I know I wouldn't spend much on them! If they actually look better than the pictures on their website why wouldn't they have changed the pictures already ? Why would they be showing off such ameture work?

It sure looks like he is just assembling old roundhouse kits and selling them as his own work. Look at the wooden boxcars setting on their box... (MDC Classic labeling).

The CSX waffle boxes are definitely Roundhouse, I have some of them, same road nubmer and all....

Wonder if he is one of the guys that bought out Athearns old stock of MDC/Roundhouse product when they had thier warehouse sale some years back.

Yes. They are one of the group that purchased the remaining/in-process MDC stock when Athearn bought MDC. AJCC purchased a large portion of the N scale stock, others in the group purchased the HO and Large scale stuff.

We make their loads under an OEM agreement.

ok i got the railgons 4 from ajcc and one old round house
the RH has large flanges and rapidos with kingpins
the ajcc have accumates with screws that look just like my
    athearn coalporters..
All 4 ajcc were restenceled 2 b&o,bn,d&rgw there is a bit of yellow
overspray and they sprayed the yellow over the black so coverage
is not the greatest in spots
The loads look good and in the cars add a good bit of weight
the loads could maybe need a wash of color to rust it up more
but i never seen a shredded steel load to be sure
I'll be buying a few more in the railgon colors
