Ken asked this in another thread. I didn't want to hijack that thread, so here is one to answer that question.

    Hey Ken and all...

Well, since you asked... I had a bicycle crash on my way home from work on June 28th where my right humourus was shattered into around 10 pieces. Had multiple right side traumas, but the arm was the worst. I had surgury on June 30th where a titianium rod was installed running the length from my shoulder joint to my elbow. I have had very limited use of my right arm. I'm still in PT for range of motion. Not even allowed to pick up my now 6 month old daughter since the accident.

Everyday gets a little better. I'm allowed to do a little more each week. I hope to begin strength training some time here in September.

So, to answer your question from the Avery thread... Yep, I did take the warm summer months off. Just not by choice... :(

Thanks for asking... Bet you didn't expect this reply...lol

Oh, and I had a pair of GP30's in progress when I crashed. Hope to get back to them one day...

Oooooooooooooooppppssss!!!! That's a darned hard way to get time off for summer. :(

Well, hopefully you've felt well enough to daydream, plan and will soon be back at it again!

    Thanks Mark & Ken.

Well Ken... I went back to work 3 days after surgery. Half time that first week, and back to full time since. I work as a remote support engineer, so spend my days working on computers remotely. So didn't even get to have time off. :(

Three days? You must have had some excellent medications. I cannot imagine that soon, without a good amount of discomfort and being able to still concentrate? Wow.

Yeah, had good meds and quite a bit of pain and not much sleep. Had to sleep setting up for almost 2 months. Lets just say I had to work. Wasn't a choice for me... :tb-mad:

Otherwise I'd taken at least 2-3 weeks off. It wasn't pretty, I'll tell ya that for sure.

I can understand. I have been sleeping sitting up, or semi-reclining for about 19 months now, since I got out of the hospital. Most nights, it's about 1&1/2 or two hours total. I end up playing some stupid game such as Bubble Town half the night, or surfing, doing crossword puzzles and hurting a lot.

Wish I could work again. As is, it's just not happening. Rats. I have seen all kinds of Milw goodies or models available out there, and can only rarely scrape up enough to get something. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Wow, so you're the six-million dollar man now? Sorry to hear about the mess--but hopefully soon you can get back to those wonderful MILW models!

"Bicycle accident"...as in you were on your bike and were hit by a four wheeler? Gotta love it, if that was the case. I feel like grabbing the 75mm howitzer from the front of the VFW and towing it behind my old Schwinn when I bike to work. Seems the only way to make the four wheeler see me..sans maybe ridding in the buff.

Did the wife blue flag you?

    Andy-

Ha ha. If the price of metal goes up high enough, they might scrap Bob and make a profit?

Haha... scrap me? I wouldn't be surprised if that actually happens.

Thanks for the kind words. I miss modeling. Physically I could now do it again, I think. However with 7 month old baby, time an money are a bit on the tight side.
