I have an issue with my Athearn Challenger where the pilot gets off center when the locomotive comes off of a sharp curve...

It looks like the pilot assembly is binding a bit on the body of the locomotive. If you tap it ever-so-gently with your finger, it re-centers and it's fine until the next curve. It does not derail the pilot but it does detract from the appearance of the locomotive when its running to have the pilot skewed to the side.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so is there an easy fix?

I have experienced something like this before with my undecorated challenger but it also looks un realistic when it does happen. I have noticed that it turns better or smother on its right than on its left it's like the pilot were the walk way is gets slightly stuck and picks up the pilot a little. It doesn't affect how it runs but you do slightly notice it.

I loosened the mounting screw about a half a turn, and haven't had the problem since.
Sometimes it really is that easy...
