I'm busy with my new H0n3 module "Salina". Now I came about the idea to lay one track more. I've drawn the track in question red. It's long for two cars. What do you think? This track can serve as team track and the "house track" will be a run around. Wolfgang
Wolfgang, That track fits without looking overly crowded. It's also pretty realistic in terms of how the prototype would have handled it. Finally, this is a pretty useful track to have as far as seeing a variety of loads. At this point though I think you are pretty maxed out on what you can fit in. I would put the turnout on the bottom siding, and a 45 degree crossover on the mainline to minimize turnouts on the main.
Lance, thank you for your opinion. I think this too. Less is more. Terry, I think this would be too complicated for a narrow gauge line. There's not so much traffic. Though I would like to build it. Wolfgang
It's 55cm wide and 320cm long, four segments รก 80cm. (nearle 2' wide and 10 2/3' long) Our modules are usually 50cm wide, but I wanted more space. Wolfgang
Exactly. Most depots had a similar track. I think the added section looks pretty good and "natural" to the rest of the scheme. In fact, now that I am starting to plan my next layout, I have an 10' wide alcove in the attic that I have been wondering what to fit in there. I may have to "adapt" and modify this scheme to fit. I like it.
I do like this design. I may build it for my standard gauge H0 "layout" for my few trains. Maybe an engine house instead of a turntable.
