Very few freights run on any kind of a schedule once they're out of their originating terminal. The times that trains will be coming and going is not available to the public, not unless you got friends with access to that kind of information.

Actually all of the trains other than bulk trains have schedules, but UP doesn't publish schedules.

My bad...Get the intermodal there on time or lose the contract. Intermodal train X should be by you between xx:xx and xx:xx within scheduled tolerance. Get the beast manifest train out of the ORIGINATING yard on time so the managers get their performance bonus, after that...who cares?

"Tower to the MTUEW, you guys ready to go yet...over". "Noooooo, your boys are still air testing it...still blue flagged...over." Oh I loved saying "NO", cause somewhere in the yard sitting in a jeep liberty was a manager just squirming about on-time performance.
If any of the manifests I pulled out of Tucson had a schedule, they must of had about 3 days for tolerance.

Or follow them, based on what you hear on the radio.
