Please let me know which of the Monongahela Ry. lines have been acquired by the CSX Transportation, Norfolk Southern Corp., and/or any other railroad or holding companies in the split-up of Conrail. Thanks. Denny
Denny, Hello. I had to call on a buddy who's familiar down the Mon...Officer Kevin says: "The MGA belongs to NS in it's entirety. CSX runs more trains on the east side than NS but they do so under a trackage rights agreement. I believe there is also a CSX connection somewhere around Fairmont, WV." That was my impression, but I never worked there after the NS/CSX split. Anything additional or contrary comes up, will let you know. Bob C.
Ironically, I have seen more CSX on the West side; W Brownsville & Frederictown and NS on the east side. I have seen CSX all the time down in Fairmont WV on the n/e bank. Photos available if you want them.
