I thought there were more than that - first two (?) yellowbonnets, then nine (?) bluebonnets, then back to painting yellowbonnets. "Cigar band" - now I do remember that term for the F-units, but since the same logo appears on Warbonnet and post-1972 freight units, it's not a very distinctive term.
Now see, I like the Kodachrome... In small doses. I think it would be visually taxing to see them in solid consists all the time. But then, I'd say a faded H2 pumpkin is a 100 times worse than the worst Kodachrome. So there you go. Also, Cigar is pre-72 covered wagon freight yes? Solid blue with a yellow stripe along the top, Cigar band and yellow lettering? It's what the Cat Whisker scheme turned into. Yes? I guess I rarely use that term. Usually I say Freight F.

" The use of the term "cigar band" for the later F units was used to distinguish them from the earlier "cat whisker" Fs. Since the same cigar band design was used on the later B/Y Warbonnets it was only natural to call them samr thing. To add evem more confusion, the F45 pin stripes got the cigar band & no yellow ends.
In the 90s, the Yellowbonnets and Super Fleets were referred to by some crews as "blondes" and "brunettes" respectively!
