Some time back and I am not sure it was actually listed here or not but someone provided a link to a German database of Marklin numbers in Z. I have just finished upgrading to win 7 and in the process seem to have lost the link I had to that database. Can anyone redirect me to this resource again.
Is it this one..I know there is another one out there..My german buddies would know. Mrklin - Produkte Give me a bit and I will post question on german board. It 8 in evening so someday is awake.
Nope with that one you have to know the number. This data base I am looking for was a list of images and data indexed by stock number issued by Marklin in Z scale.
There is a CD rom you can buy with everything on it..but its around 60 euros..i will keep bugging the Germans for something else
Not sure if this will help but a nice list with photos from Z-World website: http://z-world.com/cgi-bin-local/iteminfo3.cgi?items=1&entry=.*&submitButtonName=search&summary=1

Hi everyone. This is my first post on Trainboard! Joel, many thanks for mentioning my website. However, it is far from complete as it represents only those locos that I own or have owned. There is another website that lists all Z scale items that Maerklin have produced since 1972. That is http://www.thezcollection.be/ . Sadly, he no longer puts pictures of all the items but it is pretty complete, missing out only a few specials. Also sadly, the disc is v. expensive and I haven't updated for a couple of years as updates are almost as expensive as buying your first cd. However, if anyone wants any info on any Maerklin Z scale item, don't hesitate to contact me via a PM (or whatever they call them) on this list. With best wishes, Chris.
Hi Chris, welcome to the Z group. Great job. Your pages are the first place that I go to when I want a photo and cross reference to some of the older models.
Thanks again Joel. As I said, if it is not on my site I can still help as I have many catalogues as well as 'The Z Collection' (albeit the latter is a couple of years out of date). I can also give you the history of almost any German loco as well as many railcars as I have a small library of reference books. Must go - food is on the table. With best wishes from a volcanic ash free Skye*, Chris. *Yesterday, Skye was the only part of the UK that was free of fallout from teh icelandic volcano!
Hi Chris it may not be complete but it is accessible and filled the bill for my search in identifying several models. thanks Garth
