Congrats to Mike & Korie Pyne's Wild West Model Builders for releasing their new Z scale kits Wild West Products - Main Page These kits are a great addition to anyone in Z scale modeling early rail or the Western US. Thanks Mike & Korie! John Bartolotto
John, These folks have been coming over and attending the Hostler Train show in Ogden every year, and this year they brought a few of their new Z kits. Our club got to check them out in person, and they are very nicely done.... All their structures are geared towards steam era modeling so it a great new source for guys like Jim O. that love steam... Tony B... Wasatch Z Club
Tony, Their N scale line of buildings are perfect for my NYC&HRRR 1890s era layout. Glad their line of products is expanding. John
Silverton House John, Great Find!!! Have you seen the newly released book by MRR "Scenery Techniques" by Pelle Soeborg? The last chapter is titled, The Suburbs. It has a modern theme to it. The houses, the old factory, the road, the whole darn scene is all do-able in Z. Just one problem. Z has no houses close to what is represented in this book. But, good thing is, the website you posted has a building that looks close to one of the better buildings in the book. But it is in N and HO only. The Silverton House has some very nice curves to it. With your Z influences and all, do you think you could persuade this company to make the Silverton House in Z scale? Your reply is patiently awaiting on! Thanks John!!! Hobo Tim
Tim, I'll ask Mike & Korie. Stone Bridge Desgins new SBD-1017 Brentwood Kit is a great suburb house. Can you post pictures of what type of house(s) you mean? Then I would have a better idea of what to ask Mike & Korie and others to possibly manufacture. Happy Easter! John
Z According to the book, the house is called the Whitehall House. Branchline trains makes it in there Laser art section http://www.branchline-trains.com/laserart/residential/catalog.html It is smaller than the Silverton house, but looks similar from the front. Wish Branchline made Z laser structures!!!! Hobo Tim
Tim, Have you seen the latest suburb house and two car garage from RSLaser? http://www.rslaserkits.com/Images/4032.jpg http://www.rslaserkits.com/Images/4033.jpg Plus RSLaser has another great garage: http://www.rslaserkits.com/Images/3001A.jpg I think we are getting close. I will ask Mike & Korie to see what they have planned suburb wise. John
