I have made molds of the roof of the Hallmark cars as well as ends and floor and a coach side. I did not progress the project further as we did not have trucks for the cars. I am placing an order for the new trucks and retrofit my existing fleet of Hallmark cars and then see where we go from there. cheerz Garth
Hi Garth, I am with you  I just today bought 3 freedom sets, OK, the locos I dont need, may be one observation also enough, but a lot to bash. So, you are not alone in the valley. Greetings Armand
Armand - Don't think of the observation cars as such. You can splice off the observation end and add a splice from one end of the Pullman and have a double window coach. Use the last roof rib as a guide for your cut. Check the length when your done. It may need a little filler if your cut was to wide, but it should fit fine. I've done a few of these, and the extra effort was worth it. Good Luck!! From the land of Cornell Red and Black Diamonds!
Thanks Ron, I have never seen the Hallmarks live, so it will be, surprise, purprise. The early LV passengers was having, it seems on old photos, rounded windows. So, some millig and filling is on the schedule. Apart from the passengers I have (also thanks to Dan) some stuff. The virus was spreaded by my first accidental shopping of the Freudenreich Alco-Boxcab train.
Dear Armand, If you need photos or drawings of LV Passenger Cars, we should have all of them circa 1912-1960. These can be sent to you via US Mail. Just reimburse the postage due and their yours. If you need any other help let me know. Donna. P.S. The Sun was almost Cornell Red today!!
I owned once one for a short time and sold it again...regret, regret, regret...was before I actually got really interested in US-Z... How they run: beautiful, big coreless motor, heavy chassis, you can't do anything wrong buying a Freudenreich engine...eh...maybe you DO something wrong to your wallet....
Hi Joe, hi Gerd, I was having the chance to get the train-set over Ebay (2006) for 220 Euro. Even Freudenreich was astonished as I told him the price. The Lehigh set was a special order, as it was not on the list of the regular railroads, so it was about 1000 out of the factory. Freudenreich was planning a new production with place for decoder, but for the moment he dont sell it. I think that the new decoders will also find place in the old model, but I did not yet checked. It is this train-set that put me the LV-virus http://www.fr-model.de/shop/product...diesel-locomotive&cName=us-models-locomotives
