March Prototype Video Challenge "Trains!" Whip out the camcorders, switch your cameras to movie mode, its time for a Video Contest! This contest is for PROTOTYPE videos. Please follow this link to the simultaneous Modeling Video Challenge. *Please read all rules as they may have changed from previous weeks* If you notice a typo, error, or confusing statement, please notify Mark Watson immediately for correction and clarification. Prototype Video Challenge Topic: "Trains!" Video Contest Rules:1. Challenges are open to everyone, have fun!! 2. The entry deadline is Midnight (UTC -11), Wednesday, March 31st. Late entries will be accepted up until the official "Time's up!" post within the thread. 3. For videos to be eligible they must be recorded between Monday, March 1st and Wednesday, March 31st. Make sure to allow time for editing your video and uploading it. Don't wait till the last minute and find the poll closed before your video finishes uploading. Please use the challenge as a motive to record new videos! 4. Any posts with a video recorded before the commencement of the challenge will not be included in the poll and may be moved to the Video Cutting Room Floor thread. - Ensure dates and times on your camera are correct. - 5. Videos must be under 5 minutes so that no one must spend hours going through videos for judging. Choose the footage carefully. There will be a 30 second tolerance. Only one video per participant. 6. Though composition is popular among voters, it is not required. Any video or quick capture related to the topic is acceptable! 7. Though not required, commenting on other peoples videos is encouraged. Rating the videos on their video hosting site is also encouraged. 8. Please use the Video Cutting Room Floor thread for related but ineligible videos. 9. A cleaver and distinctive title for your image helps identify it among voters. (And makes it easier for me when posting the poll ) On April 1st, all entries will be put up for a public vote, in which all members of TrainBoard may vote for their favorite entry(s), regardless of whether you submitted an entry or not. Voting will last 6 days. You may vote for multiple entries. To do this, you must select all entries for which you wish to vote at once, and then click the submit button. We ask that you view all videos before voting. Please follow instructions on this thread for recommendations and instructions for working with video files online and posing them to TrainBoard. If you have any further questions, contact Mark Watson or simply post them to the thread and we will get back to you asap.
There has been several derailments these past few days! Sounds like we need to "film these rail lines for quality assurances"! Huh? HUH??? Its ok, dont worry about my sanity... its been a very long day..
Hopefully there are folks that have gotten out this month to take some video... :tb-confused: :tb-confused: :tb-confused: :tb-confused:
Yes, hopefully. We're still just half way through, but I would have expected at least 2 or 3 entries by now. Is anyone out there at least planning to enter something?
I haven't been able to get many videos this month. I do have something that I need to get downloaded from the camera, something my father plans to do when he has time. It'll be up by the end of the month.
Sadly I have not had a chance to get out and do any RR videos awhile now. :tb-sad: :tb-sad: :tb-sad: :tb-sad:
I might just walk down and record a 3 second clip of the cable cars. I cant lose if there's no one to compete against.
We're going to put the photo challenge on hold this weekend so we can wrap up our March Modeling & Prototype Video Challenges!! Only 5 days left!! Last chance to get something in! Hey, why not? There's NO competition yet!! :hmm4er:
