Just looking for some spacing measurments for n scale. For my yard I am thinking 1.25", but for the main line and spurs, I'm not sure. The spurs will be running parellel to the main line. Thanks in advance

Well, my experience has been 2 inches center line to center line in the yard and 2 and one quarter to 2 and one half on the mains.

    Hope this helps,

i use 1.25 for pretty much everything but im not a expert.
i suppose it comes down to how close to prototype you want to be.

I put my mains at 1", which is really close to prototype. But then again I have large enough curves for this. Yard can be whatever you want, and most people put them wider than prototype so they can get their fingers in between cars.

    Sometimes a photo helps:

    1.25" Track center spacing

I personally like the tighter spacing, it looks more realistic, but on my mainline runs, I've opted to run 1.25" t0 1.5" in the curves on paralell tracks, this makes for less chance of a side swipe on tight radius. On straight track, I try to keep it to 1 or 1.25".

I believe that FastTracks uses 1.09" for the track spacing on their crossovers. As so often the case, you're faced with the tradeoffs of realism vs. reliability. Are you going to be using RTR bridges? Then consider using the same spacing as the bridges.
