    Hello all,

I'm Dave from Brisbane Australia. I have a Fotopic website that has, among others, collections of trains from Queensland. They are separated into separate collections such as QRNational, Pacific National Queensland, and Preserved Trams and Trains. Electric suburban trains have their own collections.

If you are a bus nut as well as a rail enthusiast, check out the all over advertising buses in Brisbane.

The URL is http://david251.fotopic.net and the title is Australian Public Transport.

Regards:ru-biggrin: (This smilie looks like Ossie Ostrich!),
    Dave in Brisbane.

I was fortunate to visit Queensland in 1999 (I was at RAAF Base Amberley). I remember taking the train from Ipswich to Brisbane on the weekends for about $Au 3.50. I loved that place. Dave, I think you're fortunate to call it home.

I recall there was a railroad museum in Ipswich, but I didn't get to visit it. Is it still there?

There are two railway museums in the Ipswich area. The first one is the old Ipswich Railway Workshops in North Ipswich which has been converted into a museum which is a campus of the Queensland University of Technology. Queensland Rail bases its preserved steam locos there, and restoration is also carried out.
The second is the Australian Railway Historical Society museum at Cabanda, near Rosewood, which also has a running line. They offer driving and firing courses, too.
