Pretty good lathe work here. I am beginning to rethink my kitbashing. This website is all in Italian language, but you will get the idea. http://www.rotaie.it/New%20Pages/IlMioPremioMuzio2004Pag4.html (This is another link from the Yahoo Proto 160 group.)
He built that thing from scratch in three weeks. Wow. I read Italian, so I will go back and look later, I only skimmed it this time. With a change to the cab and wheels, it could be a North American pacific. I see that they used archbar trucks in Italy.
If you enter that link into Google's search engine, it gives you a return with the option to "Translate this page". (this works with many foriegn language pages) Some translations are a bit rough, but you can usually figure it out. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=it&u=http://www.rotaie.it/New%2520Pages/IlMioPremioMuzio2004Pag4.html&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.rotaie.it/New%252520Pages/IlMioPr emioMuzio2004Pag4.html%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DG
Awesome work. Puts my feeble kit bashing to shame. I really need to get going on developing my photo etching skills.
That is truly magnificent modeling. Takes a lot of skill, knowledge and patience. Maybe Model Railroader or one of the N Scale mags will pick it up and do a feature article.
