I have not run any of these yet, but wanted a little feedback before I tried them out in front of a crowd..... Feedback on the Atlas articulated autocars ??? (before I try them out on our N Trak layout this weekend.) Harold
They will. We delivered a fleet of the first batch @ the OKC Show 12/03. Various club members (one in particular) assembled them between 1000 and 1100 and they ran flawlessly all weekend. That same club has continued to amass more and there as never been a peep about a problem. The key is where you install the screw. There are two choices. One for tight curves and the other for broad. If you are not sure, use the hole closest to the articulation point. That is the point for tight curves and you can always move them in. You might have to open the hole with a 00-90 tap or very gently with a fine pointed x-acto blade. In some cases the paint can interfere with getting the screw started.
A buddy of mine has a very small layout but has had no problem with his rack. Runs flawlessly for hours.
I've run mine on NTRAK layouts. No problems, and they ran great. i have started using a couple of them in my home layout I am building as part of a test train. The only thing I've noticed is that they rattle a little bit while going down the tracks. But I will say, I have not looked into why they seem to rattle, and so can't say its a problem or how to get them to keep quiet.
Mine looks and runs fine. It was easy to set up and looks very nice. Though it rattles and sways abit sometimes when going across turnouts.
I run a three unit (six car) set on my house layout, which has some tight curves never had a problem and I have my screws on the inside holes. They sure look cool as they bend between the cars!
like everyone else said no probs, although the accumates as always are suspect. The only thing I don't like about them is once you screw them together, then throw the box they came in out and find someother way to carry them. It would've been nicer if they fitted in the box after being put together.
