Recap of Saturday Huge show attendance yesterday, non-stop and packed isles from open until about noon. Nice setup, and I saw some new vendors that I hadn't seen at other area shows - so a very decent selection this time. If you have kids, they had some phenomenal giveaways - and I think they're doing even more today. Must be present to win or the name(s) go back in the hopper. 11am open today. Several TB'ers scame by and said hi to me yesterday - nice to see some people in person vs. just the forum electro-chatter.
Record attendance set for this show - 19,000 + Nice to have met everyone!!! Looking forward to Plano - Jan 2010!
I was not able to make the show but was wondering if Kato said when the El Capitan passenger car set will be released to the dealers . I thought it was suppose to be in November. Anyone know . Thanks
supposed to be in dealer stock next week I think. They had one there on display, it looked pretty nice.
Stopped at Mike's Decal Deals booth, and picked up a couple of N scale boxcars and some MT couplers for my layout, plus had the chance to say HI. Russ's Rosenberg module looked awesome- I did get pics, but due to computer problems beyond my control (possible dead hard drive), I cannot load up pictures. I missed seeing Russ- he musta been out shopping at the time. There was a booth selling Frisco memorabilia (WOOHOO!!), so I loaded up with as much Frisco stuff as I could afford. That was the majority of my purchasing at this show, since I'm saving up money for Christmas, but I'm quite happy with what I got. Plus, I had the opportunity to meet several Tulsa-area modelers, and get an invite to operate this weekend on the Claremore & Southern in Claremore, OK. For those of you Trainboard types whom I didn't get the chance to meet, sorry I missed you (I was one of the 19,000-plus, and by the looks of things they all seemed to be in the building on Saturday morning). Oh yes, did a little railfanning as well (think Oklahoma Railroad Museum, Stillwater Central, and A-OK)............. Next year, I'll try to have two important things- more time and more money.
