Cleared a few things off my bench tonight. Nothing major, just a lot of M/T 1015s and some hand rail adjustments. I have 4 Kato BN U30Cs, 2 Atlas EJ&E VO 1000s, and a LL GM&O RS2 all ready for rails !!! I worked on Atlas PC C628 and C630, but didn't like the way a few things turned out. They are back on the bench !!!

I drew these up and had them printed a few weeks ago, but hadn't had much of a chance to do anything with them. Even though I'm all about WM in the 50's, I do have a few pieces from the 60's and 70's. And since the N&W was a common sight over the WM into Hagerstown, I figured I would do convert a few of my Kato SD45s into N&W high hoods. I'm looking forward to doing several of these conversions. Because the hood and the cab are one piece, it only requires one cut! Its a piece of cake!

Piperguy, I like the cab/nose combo. I will also be doing some N&W SD45s in the future. I'll be using M4D noses on the "old" Kato SD45s. Already have the parts, so I'm committed. Guess I just like the "one cut" theory. I may be at the "operating table" for a couple of days !!! No big deal, though. Your's is a good idea !!!

Here is the best place if you want just one. PM me if you want more than one and I will put as many as you need in one file to save you the printing fee on multiple items

Here for SOU units - blank fireman's side
    http://www.shapeways.com/model/9244...or-sou-and-ns-units.html?li=productBox-search

And here for N&W units - has the brake lever on the fireman's side
    http://www.shapeways.com/model/950795/n-amp-w-n-scale-sd40-45-high-hood.html?li=productBox-search

I have one of these kits in the works for the Atlas GP30, it should be ready by early April!!

This was on my workbench but today I transfered it to the layout. Next is to blend it in.

Great junkyard scene, Mike! Did you use any commercial castings, or is it all "home brew"?

Nice GP50, like the detail it shows, and nice Junkyard, I've never seen anything like it on a layout.
