    But this goodie:

    Is no longer available.
It was the subject of an UNexpected B-Day present today!
Just gotta find wall space now! And do some quick clean up, of spray paint covering the DRGW lettering! Although, a stencil from original lettering COULD be possible.

    Alan, Many Thanks again!!

I hope you can safely remove that spray paint. I hear there is something available on the anti-graffiti market. Might be worth checking into?

Will see what happens, trying to remove paint.
If I can manage to get the DRGW lettering to show better, I'd be happy.
If I can't get anything to work, without problems, I may have to consider
tracing out the lettering, and maybe doing a complete repaint.
Or, I just leave it as it is!

Isopropyl alcohol and careful scrubbing with a rag. That's what I'd do.
Just be careful to only scrub the painted over lettering, and not the surrounding paint. Otherwise, it might scrub the paint down to the metal!

Might test a small section, to see what happens.
If I get reactions that I don't like, I'm not gonna continue!
Will leave As Is, and maybe try drafting a stencil from existing lettering.
Oh well....At least it's an original!

Yeah, it does make for an awesome present!!
More so, since it was NOT expected!
Also, my Thanks to all for the B-Day wishes!
A year older, just didn't need a reminder!
But, at least I'm still alive to enjoy it! After last Aug 25.

And here it is, cleaned and mounted:

Cleaned, in that enough cover paint removed so I could make out the DRGW lettering.
From there, I was able to "paint" new lettering with a black sharpie marker. Got it about as far as I intend on going with it.
Had thought of a complete repaint, but then, it certainly wouldn't be "original"!
I like it as is, and plan on leaving As Is.

Have also been notified, that I can work something out on the following:

    DRGW EMD SW1200
    D&RGW 137

    Public Service 15-1 EMD SW-1000
    [IMG]

Have been notified that the builder plates for both units have been set aside for me, IF I want to do something about them! Will find out more, eventually.

Since the DRGW photo is NOT mine, I'm posting link only.
While the PSCo is one I shot while searching the Belt Line industries of the DRGW.
East of !-25, between 64th and maybe 68th Ave.

The builders plates on both units? Does this mean the end is near for the Public Service SW1001? I haven't seen it at the plant recently (but it has been awhile since i've been around there and paying attention to what was on the rails) is it still operational..?

    Both plates, not any longer.
The DRGW plate was disposed of during the GTE show this past weekend.
The PSCo unit is still at a friends place, again, if interested.

Yeah, the PS unit is operational. I usually see it on the east side, sitting just south of the rotary house. Friend works for the UP, North Yard fuel track.
Swears the PS unit up and down!! As well as the crew(s) operating it!
Hates that thing with a passion!
