Mystere: I look forward to the photos. I am undecided about static grass. Here are two boxcars I painted around 1994. I just liked the prototype colors and I found the Microscale decals. Here is a UP Micro Trains boxcar. The Gaylord Container structure is one of my paper stand-in buildings on the blue foam portion of my layout. I couldn't afford the MT Circus cars so I made this one. Just going through my rolling stock photos. I can see that it is a task long overdue for renaming, adding descriptions, deletions, etc. I'm going to stop or I will be at it forever. But...here is a MT depressed center flat car stripped and repainted, renumbered, etc. I lowered it, but not enough. Another project. April, 2006. This model does follow a prototype.
I updated my previous post with pictures. Flash, you just have to buy a container and experiment. For me, the result was night and day. I don't know how I survived before with out it. Here are some more pics and a close up to show the basic difference of static and ground foam grass. A BNSF coal changes mains at a cross over. An aerial shot of the area I'm working on. Custom Painted GP30 Locomotives - TCW Here are a couple progress shots of my GP30 Locomotives being custom painted by JDG (Jeff Gowers) who is a member here at Trainboard. He is making great progress and I am very happy with the results thus far. No worries about the decal bubbles, he is smoothing those out.
I spent the weekend installing some photographic backdrops on my NTrak modules. I really like the finished product, I think they work particularly well for photos you want to post online. I made a video about the installation, take a look over at my blog, http://www.realityreduced.com
Mikelhh-- I really love your dirt road. It reminds me of so many back roads I have poked along following tracks out in the country. (Or driven faster than conditions dictate, trying to beat a train to the crossing-- so I can wait on it.)
Wolfgang, the world is a better place with you working on your track. It is so nice that someone has to do it. :tb-biggrin: -Crandell
weekend update; a little late, but better then not at all. many of the modules are at the details point.
Does that Big Boy run? or is it destined to be the delight of miniture rail fans Very nice pics by the way.
