Neat. There's an old Gulf & Ship Island caboose a few miles away from me that's in the same condition, and it has a For Sale sign on it. I'll get a photo if anyone is interested.....:tb-smile:
I have just the locomotive for it: A former Santa Fe GP20 (last used on the Toledo, Peoria & Western) in the weeds at Carthage, MO August 11 of this year.
How about a pair of PA's - - -
on these fix'r uppers for sale, what's the diff between an old caboose (of this condition) listed for sale and those listed on the track as condemned?
Actually, only one of those PAs is being restored to service, as an NKP unit, by Doyle McCormack in Portland, OR. Not sure about the other one.
My understanding is that it will receive a cosmetic only restoration and be displayed at the Smithsonian Museum.
