Hi, I've been tasked to try and find the value of some used Unitrack that a friend of my wife's husband is wanting to sell. Its the newer version of unitrack (ie molded color, not painted), and is excellent condition. I've looked here and on Ebay and there is not alot of info to base the value on. From the little I've seen it seems to list at about 50-60% of discounted retail. Does this sound about right? thanks, Kevin
Depends upon the amount and condition of the track. For example do they have all of the connectors? Is there much wear, and just how much track is there, such as switches, extensions and segue pieces, types of bends and so on. I purchased my Unitrak used because the owner was dying to get rid of it, and I bought enough to make a double mainline plus 6 switches (no controllers) stub ends, and a lot of straights, for $30, but I considered that to be a real bargain. I would say that to price it at a loop with a switch for about $20 give or take, If you put it on ebay I would suggest you know what size the curves are, have an inventory by piece, and price it accordingly. If you can't find any Unitrak on eBay that may be in favor or your situation. Good luck PS - when you photograph it, make sure it is assembled. Ken "FloridaBoy" Willaman
Post a list of what's available. I know I, for one, would be interested. 50-60% of discount retail is for excellent condition - it is about what I paid for items that still had their packaging. Also, as Ken says, different items will fetch a different price.
