C'mon, the other thread is almost picture free! We've all got these scenes, so let's bring 'em out into the open... The Outhouse: Cartoon Characters: The Moose on the IRT: Well, OK, maybe not so many of you model that one... The Grim Reaper:
Only 4 pics? Not enough for all the cliches on my layout... The Girl in the Window: And the Little Mermaid:
I love it keep them coming. I think I've seen the girl in the window cliche a million times. Even the display layout in caboose hobbies has one.
Great stuff. Are any of those figures available in N scale? I want some! The only one I have right now; Killer Ants Working on a cave under a bridge on a new module for the layout. Not sure what fun little thing to hide in there.
would putting a model of my car, in front of a model of my house, on my model world count?, after all it worked for Mr. Rogers neighborhood!
Well, since I appear to have created the list in the other thread I had better fess up. Although I don't have a layout per se, I do have my share of cliche scenes already. How about this gem? It is only missing the aliens and outhouse occupant
Not too many on the home layout but there is this one of the cop behind the fast car. The outhouses on the tourist train are popular with visitors at train shows.
Sandro, is that bear feasting upon a young damsel in distress? :bear-shocked: Where, oh where is the gallant Sir Lustsalot galloping to her rescue? :w20z6q:
I wrote at this cow "Milch" = milk, but with the color visitors read (not carefully) and say MILKA, a chocolate brand. Wolfgang
Wow! some of these are great. Hope you guys don't mind if I steal a few ideas when I start my first layout. Not sure if I can come up with any ideas on my own. Thanks for sharing these...

What are we asking here. Show me your "Glitches" or show me your "Cliches". A cliche is typically defined as a trite statement, overused expression, with little to no particular meaning. Ie., "Live and let live", "My way or the highway", "Cool Dude" and "You better get right". What, what, what do these mean...any old way? If we are looking for over used model railroading cliches... oh, wouldn't that be interesting. If it's oddities...we've hit the nail on the head. If it's glitches...we may have missed the boat.
