I thought I would play with photo shop and try to add some smoke. I think it still needs work.

A good idea! But you should add smoke at the bottom too.
This starts to be another hobby.

Russell, I think that looks quite good, actually. If you could figure out how to get some thin greyish brown in amongst the white steam, you would have the 95% solution. Then, some wisps of white steam from the cylinder packing and maybe from the turbo-generator if there is one on the engine...can't make it out.

    It's a nice image. :tb-biggrin:

Here is my weekly contribution. I'm going to resort to another gallery this time where the "parent" image is located.

Looks good, keep having fun! I have an old MR mag where they had to put a piece of glass with paint on it and get the light just right to do what you have done.

I decided to try something different this week. This is my first attempt at making a train movie so be patient. Next time I'll try a better camera with higher resolution.

The GP40's waiting on a spur at Sundown for a fast freight to pass. Afterward they'll continue their trip back to Knutsville to pick up a new train.

N scale ExactRail PC&F 6033 boxcar. Body mounted, modified 1016 couplers and MT low profile wheel sets, weathered with chalks. The white balance was a little off and slightly over exposed:tb-embarrassed:

Excellent video. I don't think its so much the resolution of the camera, but the compression that is causing all those grainy artifacts. Overall, it does not distract from the video, so it works. :)

Will you be entering this in the 6 Day Modeling Video contest?

Progress on the Grey and Grandure

With the direct assistance from Grandure Lady the "Grey and Grandure IV" has made major strides:

    Overview:

Detail view of the "3 layers".
Top at 4.5" is a "race track oval" will be passenger
Middle at 2" is a Back and forth through the city
Bottom at 0" is an oval that connects to the freight yard.
With most of the track in "fitted" in place firm support will be the next step. This will be followed by wiring which will be simple since the 3 layers are not connected and then painting.
Long term plans include a "hyper modern" city in the center and expansion to the right around the living room.
According to Laura (Grandure Lady), short term plans includ freeing up the dining room table so we can dine by candle light. Yes dear.
