I'm finishing an ATSF blind end caboose and I need to ask what era's were the different ATSF used. They had ATSF no spaces or punctuation, then I've seen AT&SF, A.T.&S.F. what periods were the different styles used?
Cars painted prior to and into 1938 had "A.T.& S.F." During 1938, the "&" was dropped. "A.T.S.F." was used into 1943. During 1943 the periods were dropped. "ATSF" was applied to cars repainted after mid-1943.
