I received the following E-mail message from Cental Ohio Ntrak about the upcoming N scale weekend to be held on May 2-3, 2009 at the Franklin County fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio, This appears to be going over big time. This is the first event hosted by the crew in Columbus. I have attend the ones in Bedford, PA where the concept was born and can attest to a really enjoyable time. This is not an Ntrak only event. There will be multiple layouts. Some, probably the majority, will be Ntrak but others will not be. If you are near Columbus, OH that weekend make it a point to visit. And while you are there stop by the TRAINtrak layout and say Hi and if you want to bring something to run, by all means do so.

"Just a reminder of our N-Scale Weekend in Columbus May 2 and 3. We've had such a great response that we've had to rent a second large building.

The link to our Central Ohio N-Trak (CONTRAK) is:
Central Ohio Ntrak - A Multi Scale Railroad Club In Columbus Ohio

I hope everyone will consider joining us for our N-Scale Weekend May 2
and 3, 2009 in Columbus. It will be a great time. We have many N-Scale
vendors and several really nice clinics scheduled.

Only N-Scale. No toys or Lionel!"

Yea. Apparently they are not very web aware, their site is down. The link is valid though, hopefully it will come up some time soon. Very limited site anyway.

I will be at this event, I am really hoping it is good. I have met a few of the Columbus guys at The Great Train Expo in Columbus and really liked the modules. I talked to a few of the Dayton Ntrak club members plus some vendors at The Great Train Expo in Dayton recentely and they made a point to mention this weekend. I was even more impressed with the Dayton Ntrak club layouts. So I am guessing that many clubs from Ohio and outlying areas are going to attend. I could post some photos of the Dayton modules if some are interested, I got many shots of them. Unfortunately my camera died at the Columbus show.

Hi Pete, I'm a member of Central Ohio N-Trak and I've alerted the powers to be concerning the website. Glad to hear your gonna try to make it. I can send you info via email for the event, forms, etc and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Several of our group have also attended the Bedford weekend, and we have a wonderful time there. We did pattern the event after the Bedford one with their blessing and tremendous support and assistance. Looking forward to meeting eveyone!

Franklin Fairgrounds is about a mile or two away from my house. I have really been looking forward to this show since I chose to do an N scale layout. A member of the Dayton club said I should bring some trains to run on their layout - very friendly.

Yes, bring something to run. We've set up a with Dayton N Trak, went to shows and ran with them, and they have come to shows and ran with us. They are a great group of folks.

Sounds good here. I'm not familiar with the buildings so I'll let someone who is pick the time and spot.

Some of the Cincy guys (Tri-State N-trak) are working up a plan to be there. I will know more after this weeks meeting.

I will be there one way or another. I have been to Franklin Co. fairgrounds more times that I care to remember. I race/raced RC cars at CRCRC there for 15+ years. I can probably drive there in my sleep, I know I have driven home that way before.

The Burning River N Society will be there with a small layout. We will be keeping time slots open for guests to come and run trains on the layout, so please bring your trains. We run DC and DCC.

Just ask for Greg or Jamie and we'll take care of you.

    See you then!

I just wanted to let everyone that is thinking of/planning to attend to try to get pre-registered soon. For those wanting an event shirt and/or the event dinner we need your registration the 20th of this month to give the vendor making them for us time to get them produced. If your only wanting the dinner, it would be best to have your registration in by the 26th. We will have a limited quantity of shirts and dinners available for day of event registrants, but those are going to be on a first come basis. I want to thank everyone for their interest, as we have expanded to a second building and are really excited about the weekend. Looking forward to meeting you.

I might try to make it down there that weekend.
My brother-in-law lives in Valley View and has the NS main literally in his back yard. I can crash at his place and make it a true weekend of "training".

Hi, new to the board and fairly new to the hobby. Is this event open to the public and is there a cost to attend?

    Thanks,
    Tony
