California Northern #105 has now been spotted in Texas. Appearantly on the DGNO joining sister #107 that was moved earlier. Also LLPX SW1500 #171 has been spotted in Roseville. She was leased by the NWP then the CFNR. Now she is reportably on her way to Texas as well though not the DGNO afaik.

What's happening on CFNR? Traffic downturn? Replaced these units with other power?

I think that what we're seeing here is actually "excess power" being sold (?) off. The power is "excess" in the sense that it may have been used in the Napa and/or Vallejo operations, both of which have been shutdown (due to the businesses they serviced being closed [Napa pipe works] and/or re-loacted [industries in Vallejo]). LLPX #171 was the regular power for the "Corning Flyer" for a time but was "bumped" from service last year (around July or August, if I remember correctly) and has been sitting in the yard in Woodland ever since...

There has been a slight downturn in traffic on the CFNR's ex-SP West Valley line, just like everywhere else. The "big" news is that CFNR may be losing a customer here in Woodland...The Adams Grain plant (located on East and Gibson streets). According to the local newspaper, the plant is going to converted into a "tech center" in an attempt to attract "green businesses" (that may partner with UC Davis) into the Woodland/Davis area.

Well, hopefully this isn't like other such attempts. Which end up with huge rooms of contract phone banks, manned by low skill service sector wage CSRs in often part time and dead end jobs... Such establishments come and go. Usually have huge turnovers. Are easily effected by economics and often end up with vacant spaces.

    Another RR shipper gone. :tb-sad:

I completely agree!! When you sit back and watch a lot of these "single industry" into "industrial (you-name-it)", they often start out gang busters and tend to deteriorate quickly after the original tenants move out (for whatever reason).

I wasn't able to get to the original articles (published in the Woodland Daily Democrat), but found a link to a portion of the story at a mobile site (cell phone news) run by the Daily Democrat...The story can be found -> here <-.

Ok, havn't seen #171 in a couple weeks now. Finally moved?

Also noted by others, GP15-1s #110 and #106 are in Roseville. #110 is supposed to be headed for original sister road Puget Sound & Pacific. #106 being reassigned from Tracy to Suisuin, so it looks like she's staying awhile longer.

New Genset #506 is reported to be on its way. I thought they would only have #501-505????? Maybe Cal Northern ordered additional gensets????
