Dose anyone have any information on Tahoe Models caboose trucks? How do they compare to Kadee freight car trucks?
I have several cabeese that need to have sprung caboose trucks in both Bettendorf and Roller Bearing versions.

    Kadee 504

I purchased Kadee 504 spring truck for some old Athearn freight cars. I was very disappointed with their performance on two cars, so I returned the unopened ones for a credit.
For my two cents, I would not buy them again.

I know nothing of Tahoe models...but I had the exact opposite experience with Kadee trucks...I'd prefer to have almost nothing but Kadee trucks for my HO models! I like the way they roll, and I the way they look.

It's KADEE ONLY on my models too. Both couplers and trucks. Just wish Kadee made a caboose truck with leaf springs.

Me too. I did end up with a set of Precision Scale Andrews sprung caboose trucks. Their leaf springs work, that they're the only pair I've come across.

    Leaf Spring Trucks

    This is a Märklin Caboose.
It rolls on Kadee Bettendorf T-Bar trucks which were refitted with working leaf springs:

The original coil springs were removed and replaced by leaf springs made of 0.1mm copper sheet.
This copper was cut and bend in shape to form full eliptical leaf springs.
Then glueed on the center section of the trucks.
The trucks roll freely and equalize full as the spring stiffness is much softer than the original Kadee coil springs.

Not quite the correct trucks in comparison to prototype photos, but a good deal nearer to it than the factory fitted original ones.

I also removed the useless short coupling devices and replaced it by Kadee #58 in original box.

    greetings Lutz
