Reports of MT making a Ringling Bros. prototypical train. Lots of rumor, little fact. Anyone know anything specific?

    Hmmm... should be a winner.

And... I'm not writing that facetiously. Unlike the other 'fantasy creations' from Micro-trains... this one... specially if it's close to prototypical... would be interesting as a collectable or 'running' consist. I haven't read or heard of anything either though... and it may just be a rumor to create some interest.

EDIT: Thanks Farish. Looks pretty official on the website. I would imagine it's the real deal.

Nothing on the actual MTL website, I guess N Scale Division jumped the gun announcing it because they want to be the first to start getting preorders, but I'd be interested in it if it's true. I expect this will make use of their heavyweights so would fit the steam/early diesel era.

Sure would be nice to see a affordable consist come out. There was that person advertised on the offical MT site that came out with a few cars @ $100. each; and the cars were Kato. ????
    I'd be interested:thumbs_up:

Sign me up! Skipgear sent me an email earlier today with the MTL ad (he works at the LHS) which says 7/1 will be the first release of the series. It says "Micro Trains will produce N & Z scale prototype Ringling Bros & Barnum & Bailey cars from multiple eras, as well as specialty or themed cars (whatever that means)...."

    Very sweet!

I hope they come out with the era I am modeling, if not, and it is the modern era I will still have to go for it. I was lucky enough to get some shots of the Circus Train last year Circus Train - RailImages.com

Saw the flyer at the LHS today. No pictures or specifics. I'm sure this will do well for MT.
I for one am scared of clowns. :(

If it is a Ringling Brothers train, then the people running the Circus will be expecting it to be properly done. Obviously, no one can afford the entire huge train. But this is interesting. Nothing I need. I hope some day for a smaller carnival consist. I wonder if we will be getting circus wagons. Been years since there were any made.

I caught the circus train through Nebraska last summer. It is LOOONG.

I can see this being a fun conversation train but I'm more interested in what they will be doing with the specialty themed cars. Perhaps cages on flat cars with the animals or a load of tiny clown cars and other unique circus props.

:thumbs_up:Wonder how long it will take to get a complete train? Hopefully Micro-Trains releases them in runner packs.

I knew a clown, Rags the son of Bobo The Clown, of Barnum & Bailey Circus notoriety. He kept looking for a circus train in N Scale. He managed to find a few things. Sadly. it's to late for him as he passed away November of last year.

On the issue of trusting a clown...uhm...I wouldn't. The criminal element has been known to hang out and work for the sideshows.

It's difficult at best to keep model rail products coming. Harder yet to get the funding. Time will tell. I will certainly look at the products.

This should make a lot of circus modelers happy.

I'll second that! I may have the RBB&B train on my layout one day, but no way will there be any n-scale clowns :)

Although they may be easier to detail than regular n-scale people, as you wouldn't to be so careful when you paint their lips & faces :) :). RIP Heath Ledger

Me too.. I have always hated clowns. They creeped me out as a kid, and still creep me out. Never been much interested in the circus, even as a kid. The train either, altho they do look kinda cool running on a layout..

    Reminds me....

    One of my favorite jokes:

Q: What happens when a clown breaks wind?
    A: It smells funny.
