Thanks for the clarification. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. I have some ordered for a customer and he was asking if this was the second release, why he hadn't gotten is first release yet.
Yup, that's the series. These cars are quickly being converted to 40' well Short-Stacks so they are hard to find photos of. Dave
Gary, If you mean the Ready-To-Place Shops (formerly known as Storefronts) then they are finally supposed to be ready at the Sanda Kan factory in March. Of course Sanda Kan still isn't as reliable as in the old days but there have been improvements under Kader ownership. I have been riding the production team over there for over 2 years now to get these buildings out, it's been very frustrating. Dave
We are always looking for photos. If you send us some (or one) and it results in a run, you get a free car! So keep a sharp eye out and carry your camera! Dave
Hey Dave, you put em' out and we can handle the gensets for the time being!: :tb-biggrin: Now, are you telling me if I find some way to do-it-myself decal some Crowley 45' or Tropical reefers... :tb-cute::tb-cute: have a good one! Jan
You know I could be wrong on that, I tried finding photos as well and couldn't. I was just basing that off of HO scale models of GN woodchip cars.
Hi Dave, I assume that they are Ready-To-Place. The one that I can look at is the Products page of the website states "Structures coming soon." March is not that far away. That not to bad.:tb-biggrin: Thanks, Gary
Dole for me too, thanks. All I can add is that with all these 5-pack hitting the shelves soon (I think K-line is the only one so far), it's going to get rough. Between that, the Kato ACE's, the Atlas Dash-8's, and my 2nd kid heading for college, I may have to go on the dole. -Gary P.S. Speaking of short-stacks, Dave, I'd love to see you adapt the twin-stack tooling into a Maxi-I, not that either of us need a longer list right now...
You and me both! You know the thought has crossed my mind. I've got something differnet in mind along those lines though. Dave
Dave, could you elaborate on the changes to the Santa Fe cars? The current Deluxe boxcars are quite unlike any cars owned by the Santa Fe.
I think the Maxi-I is possibly one of the most needed pieces of intermodal equipment left. (outside of spine cars...I was holding my breath for those but I passed out, choked, died, decomposed, turned to dust, became reincarnated, died again twice, reincarnated again, and here I am still waiting) I'm guessing the older Maxi-I's and the "new" versions are different enough that they couldn't bridge both era's, but if so that would be a slam dunk.
Right here: http://www.nscalekits.com/ :tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin::tb-biggrin:! (they are not hard to build, give em' a try!) my best, Jan
The changes are supposed to be a surprise! I'll only say this much: they will be most visible from above. The Santa Fe has 4/4 ends and ours are 4/3/1 which look very similar. Dave
Doug, I agree that the Maxi I is a key car, we have the plans but I will not announce anything new until the stuff you're all waiting for is done or close to it. Dave
Joe, The J/A 53' 5-unit spine cars are out of our control, they are a joint venture with GHQ. We are still waiting for samples of the masters for the A, C/E and D spines. Dave
Dave, thats an interesting idea. Peter is another one of the "good guys" in the n-scale world, and he watches the board and looks for customer input just like yourself. I know he has worked and continues to do so, with other individuals and companies such as Helvetica and S&R Models, so maybe he is indeed worth dropping a note to as his molds for the 48 and 53' spine cars are a done deal and known high-quality commodity with after-market add-ons available from MLE. Peter seems pretty open to ideas. For me your 57' spines are the more interesting project because there is no existing kit yet. In any event, its a great time to be an N-scale intermodeler- much thanks to you and Peter. I always look forward to your new releases, my best, Jan
