Really, for that type of money, wouldn't you think he could pick up the shipping? Last time I was in Florida, felt like I was in a different country (sorry Ken)
I've seen this done several times before, the uber high buy it now price keeps the listing open for up to 30 days, allowing for more time offers to come in, acts like a reserve auction, by not having sell if offers are not high enough, and hey, if someone wants to pay the goofy buy it now price, I'm sure the seller would waive the shipping fees.
No offense Rick, Naples is on the other coast of Fla, and different as if it were another state or even country. Hey I like those M497's (rocket powered NYC RDC) because as we all imagine things, I love to run my homemade ConCor version imagining what the real guys were thinking running the experimental model, totally out of control, with this huge jet and afterburner just inches above them over a thin aluminum ceiling. Those poor guys just weren't paid enough. Hey, I almost sprung for that ebay item, only I couldn't cough up the $5.85 for the freight. Ken "FloridaBoy" Willaman
I had to ask him: Dear delamaize, Nothing, just the lister. I found this method to work quite well for other categories. - m1engineer Click "respond" to reply through Messages, or go to your email to reply From: delamaize To: m1engineer Subject: Other: delamaize sent a message about BRAND NEW! The jet engines were surplus booster engines from a B36 bomber that the USAF probably almost gave away, according to Wikipedia an entire B36 bomber cost $37.8 million in today's dollars. And the NYC already had the RDC so it didn't cost them anything at all. The windshields were even locomotive number board glass, the whole thing was a masterpiece of what we call recycling today.

Hey, if I could sell off my old ConCor boxcar stock at $13 plus freight, I would be a millionaire......lol. Some people really overvalue their stuff. Just watch Hardcore Pawn on truTV...what a joke. What is even more ridiculous is watching a swap meet before it starts. Even when I was selling off my excess, I would "wander the aisles" during set up to ensure my prices were in accord with my competition. Sometimes, I think I was the only one, as I consistently witness people trying to sell off junk w/o box for prices much higher than the correspondingly same item mint in a box. When it is brought to the attention of the higher priced vendor, he gets belligerent. Geesshhhhh. Ken "FloridaBoy" Willaman
